Tahoma High School seniors completed their STEP presentations this week, marking the final major requirement before graduation. Students spent the afternoon presenting their post‑high‑school plans to panels of teachers, staff, and community volunteers.
Each senior walked reviewers through their “13th‑Year Plan,” explaining their next steps — whether college, a trade program, the military, or full‑time work. AP Government teacher Daniel Strojan said the presentations show more than just planning: “This is the moment where students prove they’ve thought seriously about what comes after high school. You can see who’s ready to take that next step.”
Reviewers noted that this year’s presentations were especially practical, with many students including budgets, timelines, and backup options. Senior Alex Ramirez said the process felt more real than expected: “I didn’t think talking about my plan would matter that much, but once you’re up there explaining it, you realize you actually have to own it.”
By the end of the day, most seniors left relieved to have the requirement behind them. With graduation only weeks away, the STEP presentation served as the final checkpoint before the Class of 2026 moves on to whatever comes next.
