Fashion can be seen as a revolving door, styles leaving and returning as years pass, but what is the common consensus about these trends?
Emmie Roper, a Sophomore at Tahoma High School gives a her input on older trends that have decades on her, sharing
“I’ve definitely seen an increase in trends from past decades… low rise jeans, layering shirts, jean jackets and a brighter sense in style”
Roper includes that these reoccurring trends come back as social media gives influence to a younger generation
“…I definitely think celebrities and social media platforms have a big part in making these trends resurface again”
The influence of social media is powerful, able to give people different lives, making those wealthy, sharing urgent public news, and inspiring people a new fashion sense.
However these trends can be seen in any type of person.
An anonymous adult shares her opinion when asked about enjoying the trends as much as she did when younger,
“It’s fun to wear similar styles again and appreciate them from a different perspective I also love seeing capri pants make a comeback”
Clearly, being able to see trends for a second time is just as, or maybe even more enjoyable as the first.
When asked why she thinking these trends are returning she states
“I think nostalgia plays a big role. Younger generations discover these styles and make them feel fresh again”
People can rely on fashion trends to improve their mood, seeing trends that were once popular during their childhood, and rediscovering those emotions and feelings again.
Renewed trends are popular with all types of crowds, those who have discovered these trends making new memories along the clothes, and those seeing them a second time are excited to relive them.
