As the Class of 2026 prepares to walk across the graduation stage, three seniors – Abby Fechser, Grant Simmons, and Lucia Mee – reflect on the moments that shaped their high school experience and the legacies they hope to leave behind.
Abby Fechser: Leading With Heart
Known for her kindness and steady leadership, Abby has been a quiet force in student government and volunteer programs.
“I never wanted to be the loudest person in the room – I just wanted to make things better for the people around me.” Abby said.
From organizing school events to mentoring freshmen, Abby’s impact is felt across campus.
“If people remember me as someone who made them feel included, that’s enough for me,” she added.
Grant Simmons: A President Who Listens
As Student Body President, Grant Simmons has spent his senior year shaping school culture and advocating for the student needs. Balancing leadership with academics and athletics, Grant has become a recognizable and respected voice on campus.
“Being president isn’t about giving speeches – it’s about listening to what people actually need,” Grant said.
He led initiatives to improve school spirit, expand mental-health awareness events, and increase communication between students and administration.
“I wanted every student to feel like their voice mattered, even if they never stepped into a leadership role themselves,” he explained.
Grant’s peers describe him as approachable, thoughtful, and determined – qualities that helped him guide the student body through a year of change and growth.
Lucia Mee: Creativity That Connects
A talented visual artist, Lucia Mee has filled sketchbooks, hallways, and classrooms with her detailed drawings and imaginative designs. Her work ranges from realistic portraits to whimsical illustrations that brighten the school environment.
“Drawing is how I process the world – it’s like putting my thoughts on paper,” Lucia said.
She often shares her art with classmates and teachers, creating pieces that capture emotions and moments others struggle to express.
“If someone looks at my art and feels understood, that’s the best feeling,” she added.
A Class Worth Celebrating
Together, Abby, Grant, and Lucia represent the spirit of the Class of 2026 – resilient, creative, and ready to take on the world. Their stories remind the school community of the power of leadership, perseverance, and passion.
