This Halloween season, the Fright Factory in Buckley, Washington continued its success in gaining attraction from people all over the state, after causing them to come back more than once that year.
We interviewed Callen Sholberg on his experience this year attending this spooky Halloween event.
Callen went twice this year and he shares his opinions and thoughts on this.
First and foremost, making this haunted house better includes spacing out each customer’s party. The larger the amount of people that walk through together, or if two parties walk at the same time, the people in the back are way less likely to be jumpscared. This results in a less terrifying experience for the people walking through.
The popularity of this forest was extremely high, due to an increased number of people wanting to enjoy their Halloween season this year. “The lines were absurdly long and they wrapped around multiple times. It took about three hours one night and about an hour and forty five minutes the other night I went.” The three hour long line was earlier in the month of October, whereas the second night could have resulted from the attraction fading out since it was the end of the month.
Compared to other forests, Callen identifies the haunted house as having a lot of unique scenes from gore to creative clown scenes, contrasting light effects, and pretty long in length of time. He found it to be much better than the Haunted Forest of Maple Valley as it was much more elaborate and personal which proves to enhance the visitor experience by strategically placed jumpscares, and complex storytelling.
Lilly Balzarini, another student at Tahoma High School, gives her insight and perspective on working at this haunted house. This job allowed Lilly to create an immersive experience that would leave lasting memories and impressions on the people that came through.
“The nights were long, but the best part of the job was scaring people and I had complete control over that,” Lilly says. Lilly would work the weekends, when it was the most popular so she got to experience the frantic and chaotic lines, scares, and fun of it all. She had a good experience working there. This event has been a blast for many teens, adults, and many who enjoy the thrill.
In conclusion, Lilly and Callen were both a part of the Fright Factory. Based on their responses, the Fright Factory seems to be one of the best haunted houses in Washington. This is because of the engaging workers who are contributing to their success, the long lines that proved the popularity, and the positive reviews by both an employee and visitor. We recommend this haunted house for everyone in Maple Valley! 🙂
