Whether it’s on a vacation or on one’s phone, living in Washington can often seem dreary and like there’s nothing to do, leaving many to find themselves looking for ways to escape.
In reality, creating fun summer memories isn’t as hard as it may seem.
Although some might take this gorgeous state for granted, others definitely don’t, in fact, this beautiful piece of America is often considered the prettiest state, especially when it comes to nature.
When looking for things to do, sophomore at Issaquah high school Sophia Jewett states,
“I recommend hiking rattlesnake lake.”
Jewett has hiked this stunning trail many times, and says that it’s one of the most beautiful hikes she’s been on.
Jewett also shares her insight on creating long lasting memories this break,
“Have fun and don’t care what others think, be yourself and do things out of your comfort zone.”
Sometimes it can be nerve wracking to try new things, but that’s how the best memories are made.
Sophomore at THS Zach Bradford shares advice on how to have a fun summer,
”Don’t stay inside all summer and go out and do stuff.”
While it may seem like finding things to do is hard, all it might take is reaching out to someone because, who knows, maybe they also don’t have anything to do!
There are so many more fun things to do in the Maple Valley area that get overlooked often.
Some of these things include local hikes, pickleball and other community sport tournaments, concerts at lake wilderness, disc golf, and regular golf.
