Any grade can run for the elections but this year only Juniors applied for the positions. Throughout last week you were able to vote for who YOU would like to be the one to run for that section. You were able to vote through a document that was sent through your email. Here is the name and list of positions and the definition of each. The different people you will be voting for, including who the current ASB Positions are filled by from the 2025-2026 school year.
- President: The President is the highest-ranking elected representative, serving as the chief executive officer of the student council. For simple terms they arrange the chair meetings of the students and school administrations and lead students initiatives, and foster school spirit by overseeing events like rallies, assemblies and fundraisers.
- Vice-President: But the big question is, what is an ASB Vice-President? The Vice-President is the student leader who serves as the “second-in-command, assisting the President and acting on their behalf when they are absent. They focus on overseeing committees, running senate meetings, fostering school spirit and collaborating with administration to represent student interests.
- Secretary: The Secretary is the Elected Student officer responsible for managing communication, documenting meetings and maintaining official records for the student council. They act as the schools “chief and staff” and key organizer of the executive board. Making sure all the members are informed and organized.
- Treasurer: The Treasurer in a student leader is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the school’s student government. In easy terms a treasurer creates the budgets, monitors the expenditures, manages fundraiser funds and reports all the account balances to the student council members and the administrators.
- Student Advocate: The Student Advocate is an elected or Appointed student leader who represents the student voice to school administration and ensures a positive and supportive campus experience. The work to address the students’ concerns, improve school spirit, manage funds, and connect students to the school resources and services.
