Does it ever get boring doing the same events for Halloween each year? Or has the thought of new festive activities ever crossed your mind? Well over the years it’s become known to people that there isn’t much to do around the Maple Valley area regarding Halloween spirit.
Sure there’s the local Haunted Forest that gives a good scare, and the fun family pumpkin patches all around the area, but something new, eventful, and spirited always sparks a community’s interest. With Halloween so near, most of the new, exciting events take place closer to Seattle, and with Washington’s amazing traffic, it becomes more of a hassle to get to those events rather than something that should be enjoyed.
While not everyone celebrates Halloween, new community events could help people grow closer and provide support for local businesses.
Drew Ghavam, a current student at Tahoma and local resident of Maple Valley, also agreed with this statement saying, “I celebrate Halloween every year, whether it’s with friends or family, but sometimes it does get boring doing the same old pumpkin patches.”
Nevertheless, if more people began thinking this way, what would become of these events next year? How would these opinions impact businesses?
What new events would really bring the Halloween spirit out? Ideas like “horror nights”, or maybe a local pumpkin competition can spark new interests and get more people involved. It’s not just fun for the community but it brings new attractions to businesses hosting them as well.
Ultimately, more new and accessible halloween events can bring a community closer together, but also get people more excited and involved in Halloween again.
