Kirk Galang is 16 years old. He is a junior in his first year at Tahoma High School. During the third quarter of the 2020-2021 school year he plans to write about professional sports, social justice issues, politics and more. These stories will be local news from the community and international news. Galang is a lifelong sports fanatic and has been playing sports since he was little. He has played baseball, soccer and football. He enjoys watching sports teams such as the Seahawks, the Mariners, the Sounders and Manchester City. Galang is excited to watch the newly formed Seattle Kraken. He is passionate about the social justice issues and activism work that takes place throughout the Maple Valley community and beyond. He enjoys the intricacies as well as the process of politics. Galang feels that politics is impactful and leads to change in society. He plans to report on these topics through asking tough questions, ensuring there is an unbiased opinion throughout his pieces and researching immensely.
