Tahoma High School offers so many sports for all of their students. At Tahoma, all of their sports are extremely successful and competitive. Everyone knows the most recognized sports at our school such as football, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics and soccer. But, what about the ones that go unnoticed? The Tahoma Girls Lacrosse program is one of those sports. The Tahoma Lacrosse program, founded in 1999, is a very successful program for both girls and boys but doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
Two Tahoma High School seniors, Jessie Dobrucki and Taylee Alldredge, have been with Tahoma Lacrosse for as long as they can remember. Dobrucki has been playing lacrosse for 5 years, all of them with Tahoma. Alldredge has also spent her career with Tahoma, playing with the organization for 6 years. Throughout their time with the organization, the two of them have gotten extremely close. As the season nears it’s end in the upcoming months, Tahoma News reached out to the two players to get some insights about their time spent with Tahoma Lacrosse throughout the years.
Throughout the years spent with Tahoma Lacrosse, Dobrucki has made countless memories. “My favorite memory is probably playing at Stadium High School, it was beautiful”. Tahoma Lacrosse plays against countless teams at many schools. It’s no surprise that Stadium High School is a favorite by many players. With the schools castle like design and stunning field, it is almost like playing in a fairytale. Dobrucki and Alldredge have had many teammates over the years but they say their favorite part of being on the team is getting to bond with them to build their family connection. “My favorite part of being on the team is spending time with my teammates because they’re like family”.
Dobrucki is extremely involved in Lacrosse outside of the team. Dobrucki has coaches Tahoma Lacrosse Cubs for quite some time now and loves every minute of it. Cubs is a program for young and aspiring players to learn how to play the game. Dobrucki says that one of her favorite parts about lacrosse in general is getting to be apart of the team and getting to coach the Cubs program. “My favorite part is making meaningful connections and helping younger Tahoma players grow and learn”.
With Dobrucki and Alldredge’s careers with Tahoma slowly coming to an end, what’s next for them? Dobrucki and Alldredge both plan on continuing their careers in lacrosse in college. “I will most likely continue lacrosse. I look forward to playing club lacrosse with the University of Oregon”. As for Alldredge, she plans on playing at Pacific Lutheran University.
Dobrucki and Alldredge have loved every minute of their time that they spent with Tahoma Lacrosse over the years and with each other. The two are looking forward to what’s next for them and they are looking forward to the rest of their last high school season.
