On Sunday, Feb 4, 2024, Taylor Swift was announced as the winner of the 2023 Album of the Year award.
Not only was this her thirteenth Grammy, (which is her ultimate lucky number) she also became the first person to ever win Album of the Year four times.
While accepting her well deserved win, she had announced a brand new album, The Tortured Poets Department, to come out April 19 of this year.
This will be Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album to be released.
Many people have already made their predictions and expectations for this album based on the number and names of the tracks that will be featured.
There will be 15 songs and one bonus song making a total of 16.
Kaelan Matson, a junior at Tahoma says that she is “really excited for So Long, London because it’s going to be so interesting, like obviously it’s about Joe Alwyn.”
Matson also says that she has hopes for “Folklore lyrics and then a more like Midnights-y production.”
Matson says that “the second [Swift] announced it [Matson] pre-ordered the Manuscript CD, and then ordered the second variant that she announced.”
Another swiftie, Maddie Hiers was asked similar questions, she says that “One of the songs [she’s] most excited for is I Can Fix Him, No Really, I Can because it just sounds so intriguing…and I don’t really know what to expect from it.”
Hiers also mentions that she “hopes that this album is going to be kind of like a folklore type of vibe, but I’ve heard it’s also going to be somewhat Midnight’s.”
It seems like Kaelan and Maddie share very similar ideas on the album.
Hiers says that she “did buy one of the vinyl records with the manuscript, [she] bought it when it first came out, when she announced it.”
There seem to be lots of excitement and high hopes about Swift’s upcoming album no. 11
Be prepared for your Spotify or Apple Music to be a little slow the night of April 19, or April 18 at 9:00 P.M. for West coast time, as there will be millions of excited fans streaming The Tortured Poets Department for the first time.
