Cavin Eggleston, Adviser

Twenty-one students at Tahoma High School competed in the Veterans of Foreign Wars annual “Voice of Democracy” competition at the end of October. Students worked to create an audio entry of three to five minutes in length on a topic selected by the VFW.

Three student selections advanced to the next level, and students will have their entries judged at the state competition. Junior George Bjork took first place, senior Grace Wooten took second, and freshman Adrian O’Donnell took third.

Voice of Democracy is an annual nationwide scholarship program sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. It is an audio-essay contest for high school students in grades 9-12. The program annually provides more than $2.3 million in scholarships.
