Tahoma Girls Swim and Dive Is Looking To Succeed at State

Nathan Hagen, Writer

The Tahoma girls Swim and Dive team is looking fast for state this year.

With the addition of some new freshman and the return of the undefeated team of last year, the girls 7-0 team is looking to place at state.

Coach Wright has some of his own goals for the team. He and senior Captain Sydney Sears wants the team to not only win the league meet, which they did but to place in the top two teams at the district meet, which they also did.

But his biggest goal for the team is to “achieve best times, even if they don’t make it as far as they have before”. The team already has two relay state times and have faced the best teams in the league and won. Even outside of the pool, the girls are succeeding. Coach Wright says that the girls “aren’t forming the usual cliques that form on a swim team”. Both Captain Sears and Coach Wright agree that the team is bonding very well.

The varsity girls cheer for the junior varsity girls and the junior varsity girls cheer for the varsity girls. This year’s girls swim and dive team is planning to be better than they ever have before.
