Everyone watches TV at some point in their lives, whether it be a kids movie when they were five, or a show with 16 seasons as an adult, but where does everyone watch these things?
While many people have cable TV, there are also many of us who have streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+ because we can choose what we want to watch and when instead of flipping through channels trying to find something decent.
When asking Dolly Powers what her streaming preferences are, she said, “Disney+ is a big one for me,” since she is a very big fan of Disney.
While I am someone who is biased to Netflix and Prime Video, I do see the appeal of other streaming apps such as Max and Disney+ because each app has their own content owned by that company that you can’t find anywhere else.
There are many shows and movies on Hulu and AppleTV+ that you can’t find anywhere such as Veronica Mars starring Kristen Bell and Bohemian Rhapsody, the story of Freddie Mercury and Queen, starring Rami Malik.
There are often times where one service will have a movie or show but it will unfortunately be removed and put back on a different service, this can be upsetting for some people with their favorite shows and movies because they may not have those other services to watch it on.
When discussing least favorite streaming platforms with Dolly she said that she does not recommend Tubi.
The most used streaming service is Netflix with 260.80 million subscribers worldwide which does not include other members of the household who share an account. Starting in 1997 as a DVD rental service, Netflix has only gained popularity since becoming a streaming platform in 2007.
I asked Dolly what her favorite shows on her favorite services are and she said, “all of the Disney channel classics that I would watch as a kid,” and I can agree that you can’t go wrong with a Disney channel classic such as Austin and Ally or Hannah Montana.
With so many options to choose from, from comedy movies to drama TV shows, streaming services are definitely something to invest in. Why pay for cable and have to wait to watch things, when you can use streaming and watch whatever you want, whenever you want?
