The last coming week was Fall Winter ‘24! One of the most important weeks of fashion, throughout New York, Milan, London and Paris we had a lot of extravagant, unique and absolutely stunning runway shows revealing how creative people really are with what they have.
We had an amazing time reviewing shows from FW’24 and so did our local Tahoma High School Fashion Teacher: Mrs.Durrett! She did a lot of research and has so much to say about this Fall Winter. I asked her what city she thought served the best shows and runways and she said, “Milan, but I feel like Milan always does” (Durrett), and she has a great point! Milan had a lot of unique shows, such as the “AVAVAV” show where the crowd threw “trash” at the models aggressively walking on the runway. When I brought it up feeling a little trashy she totally agreed saying, “It literally is trashy!” (Durrett). She didn’t seem interested in the show. However, she absolutely adored Marc Jacobs show in New York; she said “I love the message and the looks made a lot of sense until they started showing a lot of skin.” (Durrett) and finally, We asked Mrs. Durrett how she felt about Alex Consani; an extremely famous model who took over the internet and the runways. She said how she loves her walks, but how she is outside of her modeling career: not too impressed and we can see where she is coming from with that.
Next, we have a Junior at Tahoma High School: Stella Barry! We asked the same questions as Durrett and she said “I think Paris had the best runways this year, very elegant and classy” (Barry). Kate and I agree, Paris has always been very elegant and “boujee” if we may say with their fashion week shows. She has bareilly heard of Alex Consani but as she researched she said, “I think by what I have seen, she is funny yet very serious on the runway” (Barry). opposite yet similar to Durrett, so exciting to see how people view things differently on everything in life.
Overall, by reviews online and the two people we interviewed: Fashion Week was great! Fashion has evolved so much creativity wise and the fashion world has become so unique and we are seeing never before seen ideas hit the runway exciting the people who keep up with it all.
