Mid Winter Break just wrapped up a week ago, and we hope everyone had an amazing break! For many, this is when school starts to go at a rapid pace, and it is important to keep up with school work and be diligent in this time. However, we believe that Bears deserve a break from the constant reminder of school work, so we went out and interviewed Bears about their mid-winter breaks.
Alan Hinkle, a senior at Tahoma High School revealed that he went to Mexico, and he described the trip as, “Fun and memorable…it was nostalgic and relaxing because I got to visit my family.” Alan Hinkle’s trip was a trip down memory lane as he reconnected with family, and revisited his relationship with his cultural upbringing. Furthermore, Alan Hinkle stated, “it was educational because I realized and learned a lot of things being in another country.” This is a valuable lesson for anyone who gets to experience being outside of the country, and it’s a real paradigm shift to experience a different culture and country. Alongside, it’s great to hear that Tahoma students were out learning and gaining new experiences even on break.
Jacob Santos, a senior, painted a picture of his Florida trip, describing it as, “hot and sunny,” and an, “escape from Washington, which was so nice.” It’s great to hear that people got a break from Washington and its dull weather, and Florida certainly is a place worth visiting in the winter if you are a sun lover! Santos also responded with, “I did not see Messi though, which was sad.” So, if you are planning on going to Florida with the goal of spotting Messi in public, you may want to reconsider the Florida trip.
All in all, it was wonderful to hear about the trips that Tahoma Bears went on this break, and to everyone who didn’t get a chance to go on a trip, we hope you go very soon! Vacations are an incredibly effective way to recharge, and disconnect from our daily lives and start fresh. Plan your trips for the spring break if you get a chance, and we will be waiting to hear from you about what you did during spring break.
