We’re all hyped up for the biggest game of the year, but the plays are super predictable. The Chiefs are doing their usual thing, and the 49ers are sticking to the script. It’s like watching a rerun of a game we’ve seen before, because it’s literally a rematch.
The halftime show and the commercials usually add some spice, but even they’re not hitting the mark. Everyone’s just going through the motions, and the excitement that’s supposed to electrify the air just isn’t there.
It’s like, we want those edge-of-your-seat moments, the unexpected plays that have us jumping off the couch. But instead, we’re left checking our phones, waiting for something, anything, to shake things up.
So there you have it – a Super Bowl that could’ve been an epic battle, but ended up feeling more like a regular season snoozer. Let’s hope the next one brings back the thrill we love about the game.
Despite maintaining a decent position, the once powerful team must now wrestle with the idea that they may fall short of expectations. Despite this, not all hope is lost, as the team can continue to improve their strategies as they move forward.
For the fans of the team, this season has proved to be an evaluation of loyalty and commitment, with the lions making an incredible run and Mayfield proving yet again he’s still a high level player.
We’ve seen falls like Bengals and the Jets losing their QBs to injuries. All have made incredible story lines but the outcome that we’ve gotten is nothing short of a disappointment. Without addressing defensive weakness.
Moving onto the conference championship games, the 49ers went into halftime trailing by 17 points to the Lions. With many fans losing hope, there was a wave of hope going around Levi stadium that their team would be able to make the comeback. Luckily for them, Brock Purdy did just that. The momentum completely flipped when Brandon Aiyuk came down with a 51 yard pass from Purdy. Starting the comeback, where the 49ers scored 17 points in 8 minutes during the 3rd quarter. Purdy’s resilience really shined during the 49ers 34-31 win over the Lions, leading many to question if he’s not just a “system quarterback”.
Going to the other side of the country in Baltimore, the Ravens and Chiefs are going head to head. In their first drive Lamar Jackson makes an incredible play evading defenders, and whizzing a pass downfield that was caught for a touchdown. Leading the country to think this was going to be a shootout. Following this Patrick Mahomes naturally led an outstanding first first quarter, connecting with Travis Kelce a number of times. Kelce and Mahome’s connection played a huge role in the Chiefs securing the 17-10 win, with Kelce finishing with 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. After the first quarter the Ravens play really took a dive, with them only scoring one touchdown all game.
The superbowl matchup between the 49ers and Chiefs is now set for February 11th. A rematch of the superbowl 55 game, where the Chiefs came away with the win, 31-20. This also provided the Chiefs with the chance to become the first team to win back to back super bowls since the Patriots 19 years ago. This game is anticipated to be a close one, with it being either team’s game. Football fans eagerly wait for the 11th to get here, and maybe even some Taylor Swift fans too.
