We talked to Aidan van Kirk, a high school student at Tahoma High School; his mid winter break plans are to go out with friends around Maple Valley and to go hiking around Maple Valley at Black Diamond trails.
He’s in a leadership group and he talked about Maple Valley Community Service, which can count towards the Tahoma High School graduation hours for services. To help around Maple Valley, after possible icy roads and windstorms an activity to do is to help clean up around neighborhoods with trash and tree branches.
He also talked about that over midwinter break in February people could possibly apply at jobs that are opening right now, like Fred Meyer Safeway grocery outlets such as Johnsons and Panera are open and hiring right now.
James Thamert another tahoma student we interviewed gave us more activities to hustle. Which include doing yard work, and that Tahoma students can apply for Elk Run Farm over the break.
Also, another common thing that people can do over the break is sleep a lot from all the hard work from school and just from the stress of a semester ending and starting a new half of the year with new class arrangements.
Hanging out with friends around Maple Valley, like McDonald’s, Starbucks, Fred Meyer, Summit Park, football field at the back of the high school and soccer is a further option.
Lastly, James Thamert said that you can get prepared for the next half of the year in high school for your classes and get supplies that you might need notebooks, pencils, papers, and school supplies like that.
From both interviews if tahoma students need jobs there is a lot of jobs that have openings and need employees.
Or there is little side hustles like cleaning up around the neighborhoods cutting yards or cleaning outside people homes with pusher washers or wiping widows to get little extra pocket cash.
