Recently it was announced that flag football would be in the 2028 Las Vegas Olympics.
There has been a lot of controversy about the topic of this addition due to football being a primarily american sport, with people thinking that America would be given an unfair advantage, and that’s what this article is going to be covering.
So let’s first talk about the main topic. Would the U.S have an unfair advantage during this event? The answer is yes.
With players like Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, Patrick Mahomes, and many others the edge over the other countries would be very prominent.
With football being the biggest most prominent sport in America, the amount of talent for the U.S. olympic team would be very unfair.
Text concern is if N.F.L (National Football League) players will even participate in the olympics to begin with, and with the answer my source provided we think that N.F.L. players should play.
With many of them showing interest in participating I feel like a lot of players would participate, this being a way for them to do what they love in the off season while still being on the big screen.
A more surprising thing is the fact that the N.F.L is encouraging their players to participate which Boden Smith thinks isn’t a good idea as he states that, “the nfl shouldnt be encouraging there players to play but it should be left up to players if they want to.”
To summarize it all up using all the evidence provided, the amount of players and talent the U.S has with football being an american sport shows that it isn’t gonna be fair to the other countries during the olympics, so flag football shouldn’t have been added in the first place.
