Balancing challenging classes, a job and extracurriculars can be difficult for many students, but one student seems to go above and beyond here at Tahoma. Lexie Love, a sophomore, performer, athlete, and dancer at Snowflake Lane, shows a talent for managing such a busy schedule.

She likes to keep busy, participating in the school’s track program, theater arts program as well as working at Snowflake Lane during the wintertime. “I enjoy indulging myself in multiple things to keep myself busy and well rounded,” Love said. She chose to work at Snowflake Lane because she loves to perform. “I’ve been singing as a hobby and dancing since I was 4 or 5”

Lexie participates in the Tahoma Track team during the spring and Tahoma Track Club during the summer. She claims it to be “one of [her] favorite and eventful things [she has] ever done”. Lexie also participates in the school’s musicals as well.

Besides her impressive extracurricular résumé, she is also very motivated in the classroom. “It’s a really good eye opener to efficiently manage my time for homework and my outside activities.”

After taking AP Psychology this year, she has taken an interest in majoring in psychology. She would like to either get her masters or Ph.D. in the field. She has been looking into schools like the University of Washington and Stanford and hopes to minor in Theater Arts as well.

How does she do all of this? Love says there is a trick to balancing a busy schedule. “Make a routine, be organized, and do things the day of. It’s the only way I’m able to balance everything” She suggests “to go to a coffee shop… to make sure [you] don’t have distractions” She also suggests to utilize the Reminder app on an iPhone to not forget any assignment.

“It’s all about responsibility. If you need to come in before school or during power hour to finish, or makeup assignments/tests then do it ASAP,” Lexie stated. “Be efficient with your time, get what you need to be done the day it’s assigned and use your resources”

Lexie Love proves how having a busy schedule doesn’t always have to be hectic. If one is focused and is willing to put in the effort to stay on top of things, they will be successful!
