Student section DO’s & DON’Ts. When in the student section at any sports game at Tahoma High, I feel like there are a few things that should be known, like rules or a basic knowledge of how the student section is run. 

For starters there is seniority, if a senior is up being loud they automatically get the front then it goes junior sophomores and freshman, everyone will have an opportunity to be in the front lets let the seniors have their time to shine, however, I feel as if there is an exception, if you str an underclassmen and there is upperclassmen who are just standing there on their phones and your being super up beat and cheering your heart out, get up there and start getting loud we need noise! 

Another  don’t at games, is  chant while cheer is cheering, cheer will join in with you guys when they aren’t doing a cheer of their own, if you know the cheers join in with them then that double the noise on top of how loud we all could be that’s how you make one good student section. Learn the cheers, do it too!

Dress to the theme, when you go to the games there’s almost always a theme, when you dress as the theme everyone blends in with the theme and it looks like a collective unit which makes our school look way more spirited. The themes are most of the time something trendy and fun and they are something to join in on. 

Something you shouldn’t do is sit in the student section, football games don’t last forever, Friday night lights is one of the best feelings and it’s coming to an end and the best way to embrace it is to get up move around and join your fellow classmates as a whole school and make sure that you are taking in the full FNL experience.  Student sections everywhere are on their feet. You should be too.

Don’t be afraid to embarrass yourself, when you look stupid is when you are having the most fun. If you want me to be totally honest, the people who just sit there and don’t embarrass themselves look like they are not having fun at all!  It’s the most fun when you embarrass yourself and others, no one is too cool for school spirit. Embarrass yourself!

I feel like these are some of the basic ways to have fun your highschool years; highschool goes by in the blink of an eye and it’s a weird feeling to think it’s almost over, embrace it while you can, it’s hard and scary to think it’s almost over embrace the experience and make the most of it. Highschool is the time to make your memories start here and follow the path to great memories.
