Best vs. Worst Senior Pranks
A reflection on senior pranks that have passed through Tahoma High School.
June 7, 2019
Senior year is filled with many milestones. Senior pranks, oral boards, finishing community service, rushing to get grades up, celebrating an eighteenth birthday, and so on. It’s no lie that Tahoma has a notorious reputation of being bad hosts when it comes to a well-thought out senior prank. Although, Tahoma has had a few pretty unexpectedly good pranks, along with lame ones. Despite the fact that there may not be a senior prank this year, who knows, many seniors this year are willing to dive fully in and give it there all. We’ll see how this one turns out.
Worst Pranks
Fish in the choir room
A former Tahoma High Student, Susie Neds mentioned that one of the worst senior pranks was “fish in the choir room”. This caused explicit acrid to the students and teachers, some almost died. Just kidding that would be questionable and surely the worst prank of them all. Not only is this not clever, it’s a bit disgusting if you ask me. The smell would just worsen and worsen as the day or weekend goes on. So much for a friendly environment.
Water cups in the doorway
Cavin Eggleston, teacher of journalism and yearbook says that the worst prank he has witnessed at the old Tahoma High School was seniors placing cups filled with water in the door ways. This means if teachers opened the doors, water would spill everywhere. This is a thoughtless prank thinking about how the water could spill to far and get on wires and laptops or ruin paperwork. Is this the best Tahoma can do?
Shaving Cream
Another one done at the old high school was shaving cream in the men’s bathrooms… really? That’s the best we got? No work or time or even effort is put into these pranks, and they definitely don’t compare to senior pranks in the movies. Shaving cream is to simple, maybe putting it on cars or somewhere more public would be funnier, not just in a private space that only men will see.
Best Pranks
Tailgating Party
Another former student, Mikayla McClain walked out to the parking lot and there was a tailgater, about five barbeques, food and blasting music, during school hours. Sounds like more of a senior skip day activity rather than a prank, but i’m sure it set the teachers and staff off when they saw it in action.
Pigs loose, Car on roof & Welding a car to the flagpole
Susie Neds saw her class let pigs loose inside the school one year, parking a car on the roof, (don’t know how they got it up there but it’s absolutely genius) and my personal fave, welding a car to the flagpole. As all of these actually took time, it’s quite impressive. To get the pigs and bring them over and inside the school without making a big scene. Getting a car up to the roof in a sneaky manner. And lastly, welding the car, wow, that’s most definitely time consuming and onerous for the students. I’m not sure about you but that seems more like the movies.
Seniors this year have all decided that a prank isn’t worth their time. We still have yet to find out if that is true or not but word on the street is if you’re a senior and participate in pranks this year, you can’t walk. Sheesh, bit harsh on the high school experience. There are still six days left to make something happen and about 97% of Senior class thinks doing a prank would be dope.
