Who Should be The NBA MVP?
March 26, 2019
The NBA regular season is coming to a close and there are three standout candidates for the MVP. Those three players are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George and James Harden. All three of these players have vastly different play styles but effective in their own ways. This is will be a historically hard decision for the voters.
Paul George: Paul George has established himself as the alpha of the Oklahoma City Thunder. George is putting up a statline of 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assist per game, while still being one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He is by far playing the best he ever has, while making the Thunder to one of the best records in the NBA. If he can continue leading the Thunder down the stretch it should be an interesting finish.
Giannis Antetokounmpo: Giannis has continued to put up the freakish stats he has for the last 3 years putting up 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists per game, His main argument is his team’s success. The Bucks have the best record in the NBA with 50-17, much improved from last year’s team. A lot of NBA analysts have already started to crown Giannis the best player in the NBA because of his length and ability to do everything.
James Harden: If we were talking just stats James Harden would win easily. Harden this season is putting up a ridiculous 36 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game. He is scoring at an astonishing rate scoring 30 points just about every game. Doing all this while leading a Rockets team without Chris Paul to 15 games over .500. What he’s doing has been historic although he has been cooling off as of late.
If it was any other year than this year anyone of these candidates would have won the MVP that’s how competitive this race is. All three of these guys lead their teams the right way and all play at a high level for their teams every night. One reason this NBA season has been more interesting than past years is because of players like these three that put on a show and it should be a great finish to the season.
