The Washington Huskies and the Ohio State Buckeyes both won their conference championship and will be advancing to the Rose Bowl on January 1st. The game will be played in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl (stadium).
The Huskies are a very good defensive team that is ranked 12 in the nation in total defense. The strength of this team without a doubt is the secondary, featuring star safety Taylor Rapp, and star corner Byron Murphy. The Huskies as a whole on defense are giving up just over 15 points per game, while they score just under 27 points per game. In the Huskies 3 losses, they have lost by a total of ten points playing three close tight games. And in the games against California and Oregon star Running Backs Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed were injured and limited. Even in the struggles this year the Huskies are a great team and cannot be overlooked.
The Buckeyes are almost the complete opposite of the Huskies. The Buckeyes come in at number 2 in the nation in total offense led by Heisman candidate Dwayne Haskins. The Buckeyes also have a stud Running Back in J.K. Dobbins. But the Buckeyes struggles have come from the defensive side this season giving up 26 points per game. The Buckeyes have had very underwhelming performances this season, losing to Purdue by 29 and giving up 49 points also giving up 50 points to Maryland, and giving up 30 to Oregon State and Nebraska. But just last week the Buckeyes put up 63 and blew out the number 1 rated defense in Michigan. It is hard to say what kind of team we will see on January 1st, but if Ohio State can play as they have been as of late it should be an interesting one.
Prediction: Washington: 27, Ohio State 30
The Ohio State Buckeyes is said to win this football game because of all their offensive firepower. It will simply just be too much for this Washington Huskies team and the Buckeyes will win on a late touchdown to seal the game. Should be a tight game in Pasadena for what is Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer’s last game coaching.
