The new skyward has just come back up with a new update with all new features and new look. As many know,skyward has gone through some changes. A brand new update that is very hard to navigate for both students and teachers. But what do they think of the new layout and the new concept? Did they like the old one better? Personally we feel the old one was way better and the layout was a lot easier to navigate. It’s a lot more organized but it’s very confusing. The only thing that is positive about it is that you can change the color of the site. “I like the theme change so it can fit what I like and make it more appealing to me.” The changes have brought a wave of both praise and criticism. Skyward update, its impact on students and teachers. One of the primary criticisms of the new skyward update is its complex layout. Many users have expressed frustration with the difficulty of finding essential information. While it seems to be more organized it’s more difficult. The previous version of skyward was praised for its simplicity and ease of use. Despite the navigational challenges the new skyward update does offer some positive aspects. One notable feature is the ability to change the color which tends to be people’s favorite part of the update. Even though most people seem to like the old skyward, the new one offers more organization, potentially leading to a more efficient workflow once users adapt to the new layout because the update hasn’t been out for that long now it will take time for people to get used to it. The skyward update has a lot more to offer for far more years to come. Skyward has been a popular app and website used for teachers and students to check grades and to put in grades.
The website has been a great use for a long time now since 2014 being using the same layout. Now 2025 it’s good for them to change it up, even though it’s been getting lash out and not been everyone’s favorite it is better for students to have a more organized and functional website that will definately be beneficials in the near future. Right now students are not happy about the update but that’s only because it’s new and most people don’t like a lot of change to an app they been using for a while, students and teachers also didn’t like the update because it took almost a full 2 weeks for it to be back up and people are upset they couldn’t get grades in or see them and parents were also not happy with it as well. But now that it is back and is functional everyone is hating on it but maybe only because of that kind of update that “wasn’t even all that and for how long it was down for.” “People are definitely going to be upset even if it’s just about a grading website.” “People will forget about and not care in 2 weeks.” A lot of people have already forgotten about skyward update and are starting to get used to it. People have just accepted it and move on from skyward and students mostly just don;t care about the update and say their opinions “I don’t mind the update just prefer the old one but I do like how you can change the color of your skyward it’s something that’s cool about the new update.” At least students like some things about skyward but still skyward has been getting some bad comments from students and maybe is not everyone’s favorite update but what about teachers’ view on the skyward update?
“I think there are some cool new things with the new skyword update. Teachers are able to customize more things than the old skyword and it’s nice that it automatically saves grades that are inputted.” said Jennifer Walker. It’s good that some teachers like the update, it’s great to know that skyward isn’t all that bad from what students have said. “It’s too much.” But what we have heard is that changing the theme in skyward is one of the biggest topics. I interviewed 3 students and all had something different to say but one thing in common is that they all said they loved that they are able to change the theme with different colors. Overall it seems to still have a big topic of loving it or hating it but what seems that did go was being prepared for it to happen. Every teacher told us it was going to happen weeks in advance.
“Tahoma did a great job of preparing us for the new skyword before it came out! We had multiple opportunities as a whole staff to be shown what the new skyword would look like, had reminders of things to do before skyward ‘went dark’, were given documents/ videos for common questions, and had multiple staff available to use the first few days that new skyword was up in case we needed help with anything.” stated Walker. Although students weren’t as happy about the update and said the old one was way better, teachers and staff think otherwise, they seem to love the new skyward it’s better functional and even if it’s the not “world’s greatest update ever” it still gets to where it needs to be with it’s well organized state. Overall the skyward update had a bunch of students complaining about not being such a great update but staff and teachers loving it and it’s definitely something skyward needed to change, the whole thing still getting some hate but some love to, but what do you think about the skyward update?
