With Mid-Winter Break just around the corner, students at Tahoma High School have already begun making plans for their well-deserved week off from school. This time of year is unique since there are multiple activities you can choose from to spend your time away from school.
Taking advantage of the winter weather, Jaxon Tuck, a Tahoma High School Student, says he’s “going to go skiing a lot and I want to try out snowshoeing” along with catching up on some work from his more difficult classes. Mid-Winter break is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of finding new hobbies and exploring new things.
Despite the cold weather, many students still participate in outdoor activities. Zeke Le Montagne says he’ll “probably be playing soccer” all mid-winter break. Another student, Tanner Hayes, says he’s got plans for motocross. Cold weather can make it difficult to enjoy spending time outside, so consider bundling up and enjoying your hobbies, no matter the temperature.
While mid-winter break is a chance to get some rest, many students are looking to earn some extra cash and take on extra shifts with their time off. Nick Atherton is one of these students, “trying to balance my time off with work and snowmobiling.”
However, outdoor activities at this time of year aren’t for everyone. Valentine’s Day presents an opportunity to spend time with your partner, no matter the setting. However, you should still consider making reservations at your favorite restaurant and enjoy the special occasion or at least plan a fun day out to make the most of the holiday.
