We asked four avid starbucks lovers their opinion on the festive starbucks menu to better understand the general public’s view. Each year Starbucks comes around with some holiday specials just around Thanksgiving and Christmas with 10+ flavors all varying from sweet to sour, hot and cold. We want to find out which are loved and which need to see the trash.
We took our time to ask 15 people their opinions and our results seem to have followed a pattern of one particular drink that many find disgusting. The newest refresher, “Cran-Merry” had been continuously rated low. Many people did not like the taste of it but we had also heard that it tasted better after customizing the beverage. Few people had said that it was more enjoyable after adding lemonade.
One participant in particular Joie Cunningham gave us specific insight that for her “the cranberry tastes like old spice”. Which can only be taken in as a bad review. Though on the flip side from many of our participants we heard that the lattes were the best. Specifically the “Caramel Brulee” and “Iced Sugar Cookie” lattes. Some argued that they were good but also slightly too sweet in some cases.
The drinks that seemed to have no bad reviews were the long loved vanilla chai latte and the peppermint white hot chocolate. These two seem to be the drinks that return to the holiday menu annually and are always loved by Starbucks customers. Lilly Rice, a Starbucks worker and Tahoma graduate explains that “these two drinks are the ones people seem to order the most during her shifts”. Though her least favorite to make is any of the winter drinks including cold foam because it seems all people want is just the cold foam and not so much the drinks, and her personal favorite is said to be, “caramel brulee latte, I love the sweet and warm especially early mornings when I wake up, and it’s me and my boyfriends favorite drink to share with each other”.
