After school time at Tahoma high school students can choose a variety of activities to partake in. Most kids go directly to their sports teams where they can enjoy soccer, basketball, or swimming. Some might attend clubs such as drama, art, or science, where they can learn about their interests and make new friends. Some students even volunteer in their towns, giving assistance at local shelters or attending clean up events.
Also, there are some students, who are free after organized activities, and take time to relax after a long day of classes. Some might throw friends together at the park, play video games, or watch the series they love to watch. Tahoma High School freshman, Braxton Baker says after school he goes to the skatepark and skates.
There are also those who have homework, and prefer to stay as far away from distractions as possible while they do it. They often move to sit in corners of their homes or to the nearest library. For quite a number of kids, the art of balancing fun and responsibilities is critical.
In addition, some students partake in afterschool programs that assist them in their studies. These programs can periodically provide additional help in subjects such as math or reading ensuring that everyone remains on track. Another freshman at Tahoma High School, George Hibbler says he enjoys playing video games after school.
Amongst all sports clubs or study sessions, the time after school is an opportunity for students to expand, learn, and have fun with their extracurricular activities beyond the classroom.
