My name is Hannah Estifanos. I am a 17 year old senior at Tahoma High School. I have lived in Maple Valley all my life. I am the youngest of 3 children, I have two older brothers. My parents are refugees from Eritrea, a small country in East Africa. I’ve grown up listening to their stories of how they escaped the country during war. My family's experience has helped me realise the importance of journalism. I love how stories can bring people together and build community. That being said, this quarter I want to write about important issues surrounding culture and race, but also lighter topics like music and fashion.
