Venom is the most recent release in the Marvel movie universe. Venom, compared to other Marvel films, didn’t have as much humor as other Marvel movies. But that doesn’t surprise me because Venoms is more of a darker character.

Eddie Brock(Tom Hardy), a dedicated reporter, becomes down on his luck after attempting to seek the truth about the head of the Life Foundation, Carlton Drake. Drake wants to change the world regardless of what it takes – he will make decisions to progress his business, moral or not. Eddie’s bad luck continues when his fiance breaks things off. He’s looking for a good story, seeking the truth and trying to do the right thing. As he tries to get back on track, a symbiote named Venom takes over his body. Through struggling to find resolve with his circumstances, Eddie must cooperate with Venom before it’s too late.

Ruben Fleischer, known for directing Zombieland, was the director of Venom. While he hasn’t been associated with big-time movies, I think Fleischer was the right fit for this film. The movie was good because he was able to develop the story and his ability to direct the interaction between characters.

Going into a movie where Venom is known for being a Villain, Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock/Venom) is the main reason why Venom is more of a human character, which allows the hero side of Venom to come out. I can see Venom playing a hero in an upcoming film because of this human side of the character.

This is a must watch movie, especially for Marvel fans. A storyline that will keep you guessing, character relationships that develop well throughout the story, and who doesn’t like a superhero movie? Overall this was a solid film, and worth watching.
